Abstract
Linear TR theories (Timoshenko-Reissner theories) of isotropic plates and shells are discussed. These theories take into account the transversal shear deformation and rotation inertia. The main subject under consideration is the construction of these theories by the asymptotic method and the related error estimates for static and dynamic problems. In the dynamic case a method is suggested for the extension of the range of applicability of the TR theory. Keywords
