Thrombosis in the Emergency Department

Abstract
PATIENTS WITH suspected deep vein thrombosis (DVT) frequently present to hospital emergency departments. Since symptoms and signs of DVT are nonspecific and found in a wide variety of nonthrombotic disorders, timely diagnostic testing must be performed to correctly identify patients with this condition.1,2 Compression ultrasound venous imaging is the most accurate noninvasive test for the diagnosis of DVT.2-4
