Abstract
A Bragg diffraction experiment carried out with a source of Mossbauer gamma rays and a resonant absorber can be used to separate the elastically and inelastically scattered components of diffraction peaks. The technique has been used to study a release of energy occurring at 180 degrees C during the heating of single crystals of aluminium. Keywords
