An attempt should be made to understand the different religious principles that affect End-of-Life decisions in patient-care. Defining an ethical framework is essential in understanding sensitive issues related to religion in advanced illness. Compassionate care is essential in all end-of-life care settings. Physician awareness is a key principle in inculcating the religious values of patients. Cultural and religious awareness on the part of the healthcare team is essential in providing effective palliative and hospice care at the end-of-life to patients. Q & A Session is also available.
