Abstract
Granular materials play an important role in technology and in nature, from the manufacturing of pills to the motion of ice shelfs. In his Perspective, Mullin highlights some of the counterintuitive properties of granular materials. He discusses the report by Burtally et al., who show that mixtures of grains with the same size but different density can de-mix completely. Keywords
