Equal‐sensation functions generated by the method of magnitude estimation

Abstract

The method of magnitude estimation has been adapted to measure successfully various kinds of equal‐sensation functions in several sense modalities. These successes may help to evaluate a recently reported severe failure of the method to yield satisfactory duration‐intensity trading functions for equal loudness.
