Abstract
Comparative study of the energy flow and nutrient cycling patterns of natural ecosystems is a recent product of integrated environmental research programs. This paper provides an overview of the accomplishments and potential contributions to the analysis of ecosystem metabolism contributed through the International Biological Program.Keywords
