Abstract
A simple method is presented for the adaptive cancelling of a sine wave signal of known frequency in a time series. The system is characterised by the phase and amplitude parameters which are updated directly according to an LMS-style algorithm. The convergence behaviours and variances of these parameters are analysed. It is demonstrated that the proposed method can effectively remove the 50 Hz power line interference in the recording of electrocardiograms (ECG).Keywords
