Abstract
This paper presents two-dimensional magnetostriction analysis using a numerical modeling method of two-dimensional magnetostriction (E&S-W model) on magnetic core in induction motor. In order to reduce vibration and acoustic noise of the induction motor, it is necessary to evaluate the magnetostriction on the magnetic core. The Two-dimensional magnetostriction and vector magnetic characteristics on electrical steel sheet have been measured. The relationships among magnetic flux density vector and magnetic field strength vector, maximum magnetostriction of expansion and contraction have been made clearly. The E&S-W model is suggested in order to estimate the two-dimensional magnetostriction under non-sinusoidal magnetic flux condition. It is possible to analyze the two-dimensional magnetostriction on the magnetic core using vector magnetic characteristics analysis and the E&S-W model. In this method, the distribution of peak-to-peak two-dimensional magnetostriction and relationship among the magnetic flux density vector and maximum magnetostriction of expansion and contraction were made clearly. The distribution of the peak-to-peak two-dimensional magnetostriction was not similar to the distribution of maximum magnetic flux density vector. Keywords
