The Density of Uranine Particles Produced by a Spinning Disc Aerosol Generator

Abstract

The densities of 3- to 15-micron-diameter uranine particles prepared with a spinning disc aerosol generator were determined to be from 1.25 to 1.5 gm/cm³, somewhat less than the 1.53 gm/cm³ measured for the theoretical density of the uranine. The densities of the particles were determined from the mass median diameter and total mass of particles collected on a membrane filter.
