Abstract
Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is associated with diverse risk factors, some of which are transient, such as recent surgery and pregnancy, and others of which are persistent, such as cancer. When VTE is associated with an acquired risk factor, either transient or persistent, it is called provoked. When there is no apparent clinical risk factor, it is called unprovoked or idiopathic.1This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
