Abstract
The addition of egg to the paste used to protect stone buildings is an old custom, with origins in ancient Rome.1,2 We describe a patient who had an episode of severe asthma and atopic dermatitis caused by the release of this hidden allergen during the cleaning and repairing of a cathedral wall from the 16th century.Keywords
