Abstract
Future high-speed networks are expected to carry trafficwith a wide range of performance requirements. Wedescribe two queue service disciplines, rate-basedscheduling and hierarchical round robin scheduling,that allow some connections to receive guaranteed rateand jitter performance, while others receive best effortservice.
