Abstract
The incorporation of either quinoline methiodide or succindinitrile in a nickel deposit enhances the adsorption (and incorporation) of the substance itself and also of other substances present in the same solution. Two-stage plating experiments have confirmed that this is because they increase the surface density of adsorption sites. Variations in the properties of deposits from solutions containing these additives alone or with saccharin are consistent with observed variations in carbon and sulphur contents.
