Abstract
Then-conductivity of zinc oxide single crystals is discussed in terms of the formation of oxygen ion vacancies,V 0, instead of interstitial zinc ions, Zn i + . The oxygen vacancies act as donors and may have one or two electrons depending on the degree of ionization. Zinc ion vacanciesV Zn - − act as acceptors in the crystals.Keywords
