Abstract
In numerous digital signal processing applications, the data are collected by using low cost, imperfect, digital sensors. This is the case in low cost sensor networks and simple devices which are used in the Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The most common artifacts are DC bias and high frequency noise. Therefore, there is a need for simple efficient digital filters for such applications. In this paper, we analyze the usability of DC blocker, its fixed point implementation, general linear-phase DC blocker, and simple lowpass digital filter. We test performance of these filters in processing real world ECG data.
