Selecting uninjured ‘Cody’ alfalfa plants in the field following a heavy infestation of Acyrthosiphon pisum (Harris) expediently obtained resistant plants. Resistance appeared comparable to that obtained by selection in the greenhouse. Progeny testing facilitated selection of highly resistant plants.
