Forest Information Systems that Really Work

Abstract
Forest information systems are an essential element in the design and implementation of forest management, yet there are a lot of information systems that do not work. The task of building usable information systems has been fragmented and underestimated and, with the tendency to throw computer technology at a problem, it is still being underestimated. To get information systems that really work, the forestry community must spend time and effort in discovering the information needs across decision levels.
