Abstract
The relief of [human] esophageal food impaction with the use of i.v. glucagon is reported. The radiographs in this report illustrate a technique of pharmaco- and interventional radiology which precludes emergency esophagoscopy in obstructive esophagopathy. The attendant hazards of emergency esophagoscopy are avoided and the patient, relieved of acute symptoms, may be further studied radiographically and endoscopically on an elective basis.
