Abstract
The paper shows that under certain circumstances a monochromatic filament source located above a plane surface coated with a metamaterial does not illuminate the upper half space. New designs of electromagnetic field absorbers and resonators are suggested. They can be constructed with the help of metamaterials. Keywords
