The effect of patient position on radiotherapy protocol deviations in the treatment of acute lymphocytic leukemia

Abstract
A RETROSPECTIVE PORTAL FILM ANALYSIS of patients treated with cranial irradiation on Protocol CLB #7611 for Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia was undertaken as part of the Quality Assurance Program of the Radiotherapy Committee. This analysis has revealed a significant correlation (P <0.05) between major protocol deviations and patient set-up position. The majority of the deviations observed consisted of excessive blocking of the radiation dose to the orbit.
