Skiing and snowboarding injuries

Abstract
Preview In spite of improvements in facilities and equipment, skiing injuries still run the gamut from minor tendinitis to complete disruption of a ligament or fracture of a bone. Dr Johnson notes that knee injuries are predominant in both downhill and cross-country skiers, commonly as a result of internal rotation and valgus stress. Snowboarding injuries, such as ligament sprains and fractures, are usually due to direct impact.
