Abstract
Zonaless rabbit ova, exposed to Concanavalin A or Wheat Germ Agglutinin, then to uterine capacitated sperm produce pronuclear, 2 and 4 stage embryos that are indistinguishable from controls. Absence of cortical granules indicates that the ova were fertilized and not merely activated. Survival of lectin‐bearing receptors during the period necessary for fertilization was evaluated in ova marked with ferritin‐conjugated lectin. Keywords
