Synthesis of 3′-(5-Amino-1,2,3,4-tetrazol-1-yl)-3′-deoxythymidines

Abstract

A one-pot synthesis of the new 3′-(5-amino-1,2,3,4-tetrazol-1-yl)-3′-deoxythymidines from 3′-Azido-3′-deoxythymidine (AZT) is described. The key step is the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of hydrazoic acid to intermediate carbodiimides.
