Abstract
«The Roles of the French Public Inquiries Inspectors and the General Interest». Xavier Piechaczyk [93-122] French public inquiries is a legal procedure used to determine what is the «public interest» of projects which can cause damage to the social and natural environment. This procedure folds into two dimensions : first, it is based on the principale of public consultation, second, it is based on technical studies. The present article shows the different ideal-typical «roles» public inquiries inspectors play in order to articulate those two dimensions within specifie situations.
