Inflammatory pseudotumor of the spleen

Abstract
Two examples of an unusual [human] splenic inflammatory pseudotumor are reported. Splenectomy followed detection of a mass lesion by CT [computed tomography] scan in 1 case, and in the other, the pseudotumor was an unexpected and incidental pathologic finding. Despite the alarming gross appearance of these lesions, microscopic features were unequivocally inflammatory and benign.
