Optimization of Vibration Absorbers: A Graphical Method for use on Idealized Systems with Restricted Damping

Abstract

Existing methods for the design of vibration absorbers can only be applied to limited types of system. In this paper, a graphical method is described which can be applied to a wider range of problems, in particular when the main system possesses damping and the absorber damping ratio is fixed.
