Abstract
Seven men with autistic disorders developed mood disorders or psychotic illnesses during adult life. This association has also been described in several previous reports. Although no firm conclusions can be drawn on the basis of case reports alone, it appears that autistic disorders may increase vulnerability to such psychoses. Possible reasons for the association are discussed, as is treatment. Keywords
