Gauge fields on a lattice. II. Gauge-invariant Ising model

Abstract

We study the case of a discrete local gauge group $Z_2$ in order to discuss the existence of a transition in dimension $d\ge 3$. We compute the critical constant for $d=3\mathrm{} \mathrm{and} 4$ and show that in three dimensions the transition is a second-order one.
