Abstract
The paper describes the electret characteristics of polylactide and its compositions with magnesium oxide at various ratios of components. It was shown that addition of fine magnesium oxide to molten polylactide followed by mixing increased the values and thermal stability of electret properties. The addition of 8 wt.% magnesium oxide to polylactide films proved to be the most effective for increasing of surface potential, electric field strength, and effective surface charge density of the films. Thermal stability of the electret state was the highest in compositions of a polylactide and 1 wt. % magnesium oxide. Keywords
