Synthesis and structure of a novel pentacoordinate organogermanium compound

Abstract

Reaction between Bu^tGeCl₃ and mercaptoacetic acid afforded a novel type of pentacoordinate germanium compound via Bu^tGe(SCH₂CO₂H)₃ which loses one mole of SCH₂CO₂H to afford the pentacoordinate species.
