Prognostic Value of Estrogen Receptors in Cancer of the Uterine Cervix

Abstract

To the Editor: We were interested to read the report by Fisher et al.¹ in the July 2 issue, confirming that higher estrogen-receptor levels in breast carcinoma were associated with a greater probability of disease-free survival. In our study,² patients with estrogen-receptor-positive carcinomas had a longer disease-free interval, a longer survival after mastectomy, and a longer interval between recurrence and death.
