Abstract
Significant changes have occurred in surgical education during the past decade, including the implementation of duty hour limitations, the initiation of new integrated subspecialty training paradigms, and a potentially changing applicant pool with more women entering medical school. It is possible that these developments have altered the characteristics of applicants for general surgery residency (GSR) training.Keywords
