Abstract
The profession of speech‐language pathology currently is experiencing a knowledge explosion. Due to technological advancements as well as changing demographics, the profession is undergoing a metamorphosis. Today's speech‐language pathologist is required to know and apply a wealth of ever increasing information. Because of such changes, there is an on‐going need to examine the preparation of speech‐language pathologists. This research reports self‐perceptions of clinical competence with selected skills by a national sample of ASHA‐certified speech‐language pathologists.Keywords
