Abstract

The detection of microbial DNA in clinical samples by nucleic acid amplification methods is often limited by the low concentration of organisms present in the specimen. Adequate amounts of target DNA are produced only through time-consuming or inefficient manual concentration and lysis methods, or expensive, dedicated equipment.
