Abstract
Migration researchers in population geography have in recent years become more conscious of the need to engage with the current philosophical and methodological debates within the parent discipline and in social sciences generally. This paper examines the issues of difference and representation, which have attracted much attention in contemporary social sciences. Using an alternative textual structure, the paper presents the voices of Hong Kong‐born migrants, in an attempt to highlight the need for migration researchers to adequately represent the diversity of perceptions and experiences of migrants.
