Abstract
The adiabatic elastic constants of cadmium single crystals have been measured by an ultrasonic pulse technique. The values extrapolated to 0°K are: , , , , in units of dynes/. A Debye characteristic temperature, , of 213°±1°K has been calculated from these 0°K elastic constants. The temperature dependence of the linear compressibilities, and , has also been calculated.
