Multichordal charge exchange recombination spectroscopy on the Doublet III tokamak

Abstract
An instrument has been developed to spectroscopically measure ion temperature and rotation speed spatial profiles in neutral-beam-heated tokamak plasmas. Up to eight spatial chords of data can be obtained for 32 time slices during a single discharge with selectable resolution times as short as 2 ms. A special arrangement of fiber optics allows simultaneous data acquisition from all chords without the use of scanning mirrors or other moving parts. Techniques used to analyze the data from the system are discussed.
