A co‐precipitation technique for determining trace metal concentrations in iron‐rich saline solutions

Abstract
The analysis of trace metals in saline water samples poses many problems due to the complexity of the sample matrix. We present a method to analyze Pb, Cu and Zn in saline to hypersaline (as high as 300 parts per thousand) waters that also contain high Fe concentrations. This technique is rapid as well as precise and has a potential usage for such diverse environmental samples as hypersaline brines, acid mine drainage waters and groundwater leachate.
