Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to propose the use of SIPOC of Six Sigma for programme management in higher education for Social Responsibility (SR). A case study of a tertiary institute in Hong Kong for developing an undergraduate programme has been illustrated. After reviewing literatures on management, education, Six Sigma, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Quality Assurance (QA) and programme management, a matrix of SIPOC and QA elements – systematic planning, culture of criticism, value-adding, accountability and continuous improvement – has been developed. This is managerially relevant to higher educational sector. However, validation of the QA model needs further study.
