Abstract
The Lp types are independent of sex and age. The calculations of the Lp frequencies in the Norwegian population are now bas?d on tests of 1109 unrelated individuals. A frequency of 0.1948 was found for the gene Lpa. Members of 175 Norwegian families with a total of 646 children have been tested for the Lp(a) factor (94 of the families have been Included in an earlier paper). The distribution of the Lp types in the family material confirms that the Lp(a) factor is determined by a simple, autosomal, dominant mode of inheritance. No exception from the postulated mode of inheritance, in addition to the one reported earlier, was found. The results of the population studies so far performed, are presented. This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
