Abstract
This paper investigates a novel estimation method for iron losses considering hysteretic property and skin effect simultaneously. In the proposed method, iron losses considering both hysteretic property and skin effect are estimated by utilizing a 1-D finite element method as a postprocessing of the usual 2-D analyses based on ordinary magnetization curve. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed iron loss estimation method, we compare numerical results with measured ones. Furthermore, the proposed method is applied to iron loss analysis of an interior permanent magnet motor fed by pulsewidth modulation inverter. Keywords
