Abstract
In this paper it is argued that feminist geographies may contribute to new insights about entrepreneurship. First, the implicit masculinism of conventional entrepreneurship research is challenged. Second, different conceptions of place and gender are explored to demonstrate that the way we conceive of place and gender is crucial to our understanding of entrepreneurship. Third, the interweaving of place, gender and entrepreneurship is focused. It is concluded that when studying entrepreneurs one is studying gendered individuals in gendered places. The difference that place makes to gender relations and entrepreneurship should be taken into account. Keywords
