Angular Distribution of Gamma Rays Following Coulomb Excitation in Even-Even Nuclei

Abstract
The angular distributions of gamma radiation from Coulomb excitation with respect to the incident proton beam on thick targets have been measured in the even-even nuclei Ru104, Pd108, Pd110, Cd110, Cd112, Cd114, Cd116, Os190,192, and Pt194. The particle parameters aν for a thick target deduced from the measurements on Ru104, Pd110, Cd114, and Pt194 agree to within the accuracy of the experiments (±2 to 5% for a2) with the numerical results from the quantum-mechanical treatment of the Coulomb excitation process.
