Application for determining mustahiq based on the priority using weight product method (case study: BAZIS DKI Jakarta)

Abstract

Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam. The person who entitled to receive zakah called mustahiq. BAZIS is one of the (Islamic) board which oversees the collection of alms. Its main task is to receive zakah from muzaki and distribute it to the right mustahiq. To determine the mustahiq, BAZIS commitee perform interviews and observation (field surveys) to the mustahiq candidates which could lead to be subjective. This paper propose the application to help BAZIS in determining more priority mustahiq which can reduce the subjectivity using weighted product method. The Criteria of mustahiq selection that used in this application are monthly income, home and vehicle ownership, number of dependents, whether there is a person in charge, and the completeness of the file.
