Choroidal Detachment Immediately Following Cataract Extraction

Abstract

Using the binocular indirect ophthalmoscope, 31 patients undergoing cataract extraction were examined immediately postoperatively. Of the 20 patients in whom adequate funduscopy could be performed, 14 had definite choroidal detachments, four had questionable but likely areas (an incidence of 90%), and two had no obvious detachment.
