Electron Binding Energies, X-Ray Spectra, andL-Shell Fluorescence Yields in Curium (Z=96)

Abstract
The Cm K x-ray spectrum from the decay of Cf249 and the Cm L x-ray, internal conversion, and γray spectra associated with the 42.9-keV E2 transition in the α decay of Cf250 were measured at high resolution. From these data accurate values for the binding energies of K, L1, L2, L3, M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, N1, N2, N3, N4, N5, O2, O3, O4, and P3 electrons in Cm were obtained. Values were derived also for the L-subshell fluorescence yields in Cm: ω1=0.28±0.06. ω2=0.55±0.02, and ω3=0.63±0.02.
