CONGO-CRIMEAN HEMORRHAGIC-FEVER IN DUBAI - AN OUTBREAK AT THE RASHID-HOSPITAL

Abstract
A hospital outbreak of hemorrhagic fever took place in Dubai in Nov. 1979. The index case died in the casualty department shortly after admission. There were 5 secondary cases among hospital staff, 2 of whom died. When, 3 mo. after this outbreak, a patient with symptoms characteristic of hemorrhagic fever was admitted, immediate barrier nursing prevented further secondary cases.
