An apparatus consisting of tongue-seizing forceps, soft rubber stoppers, and a hypodermic needle and syringe is described. It permits the flooding of areas in plant leaves by hydraulic pressure. The device has been used to permeate cereal leaves with bacterial suspensions, water, and chemical solutions.
