Abstract
BaFBr : Eu2+ phosphor plates are rapidly becoming popular two-dimensional detectors of X-ray diffraction. In this work a number of phosphor properties, relevant to its utilization as an X-ray detector have been measured, namely: signal storage stability; signal zeroing and absolute signal sensitivity. As a result of these investigations, alterations in the production of the phosphor screens are suggested which will achieve optimal signal erasure, improved signal storage stability, higher spatial resolution and a wider dynamic range. Keywords
